The Macallan Distil Your World New York, an exceptional limited edition single malt whisky is matured in the finest combination of six casks, crafted from both American and European oak, this single malt whisky is bottled at 49.5% and delivers notes that reflect the artistic character and ingredients which define New York City. Celebrating the combined expertise of Whisky Maker Polly Logan and the Roca brothers, owners of El Cellar de Can Roca, this limited-edition release of only 1000 bottles, distils the essence of this iconic city.
New York is the second bottle release in the Distil Your World series from The Macallan (the first was London). The point of this new whisky is to capture the spirit of New York City, but how does one actually do that in liquid form? Well, a bit of imagination and creative license from the whisky makers is involved, and fortunately for The Macallan, the distillery has a decade-long relationship with famed Michelin-starred Spanish chefs the Roca Brothers.
Tasting Notes:
Big apple with peanut brittle and milk chocolate. A sweet and salty mix like a rising dough and a whip of sidewalks, fresh rain, and cherry blossom. Palate: Baked apple and raisin, chocolate-covered nuts, maple syrup, and toasted waffles with a side of salted pecans. Finish: Medium with roasted nuts and sweet oak. Hue: City Sunrise.
Distil Your World New York comes in a white presentation box featuring an engraved aerial map of New York. Touches of blue on the box and bottle represent what’s described as the water that surrounds the city and the buildings reaching into the sky.
